STUDENTS

WE ARE EXCITED TO BE A PART OF YOUR COLLEGE EXPERIENCE!

There's much to see at Barn Yard Equine! While you are welcome to explore, please do not wander the property without a Barn Yard Crew member. This is for your safety and ours.

The horses are an integral part of what we do, but understand they are working animals. Please respect their need for down time while they are in their stalls and allow them to work during their sessions without additional distraction. They are on well balanced diets and treats are only allowed under Barn Manager supervision.

we never stop providing therapy in our area of discipline and start providing hippo-therapy. You are here to learn about hippo-therapy, but first and foremost, the field listed on your degree. While the initial introduction involves horse knowledge for safety, we will quickly transition into a therapy perspective.

What is Hippo-therapy?

The term hippo-therapy refers to how occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech-language pathology professionals use evidence-based practice and clinical reasoning in the purposeful manipulation of equine movement as a therapy tool to engage sensory, neuromotor and cognitive systems to promote functional outcomes.
